West Virginia’s Class of 2023 currently has commitments from 17 players, however, none of those are from a quarterback.
Here’s the name of a player to keep an eye on that could eventually change that.
Sean Boyle is a 3-star quarterback from Charlotte Catholic High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. During his recruiting process, Boyle has received offers from Memphis, Rutgers, South Florida, UConn, James Madison and Arkansas State but last November, Boyle decided to commit to his hometown school, the Charlotte 49ers.
Neal Brown and WVU have now given Boyle something to think about because the Mountaineers decided to extend him an offer. Although he’s from North Carolina, Boyle has ties to West Virginia as that’s where his mother attended college.
West Virginia Sports Now caught up this morning with Boyle to get his quick thoughts on getting the offer from WVU.
“Coach Harrell Facetimed me last night and told me the good news,” Boyle tells WVSN. “He said that I’d be a great fit in their offense and what they’re doing as a team. My mom graduated from WVU so it’s definitely an offer I’ve worked for since I was a kid.”

“Most coaches really like my ability to make on and off platform throws, get out of the pocket when I need to and make quick reads.”

Boyle has been committed to Charlotte for nearly a year, so I asked him if last night’s news changes things with his recruitment?
“Right now, I am committed to Charlotte. I definitely want to get up to West Virginia as soon as possible!!”
West Virginia’s Current Quarterback Depth Chart:
J.T. Daniels (Redshirt Junior)
Will Crowder (Redshirt Freshman)
Garrett Greene (Sophomore)
Nicco Marchiol (Freshman)
WVU head coach Neal Brown has only separated his backup quarterbacks with the “OR” between them to not officially rank them in any particular order. It can also be said the Mountaineers are pleased with the young quarterback group they have behind Daniels.
