In this week’s interview edition of The Flagship Podcast, we talk to Chris Anderson of EerSports.com as we preview the Longhorns’ game this Saturday against West Virginia (2-2, 0-1 Big 12), which is coming off a 33-10 victory at Virginia Tech.
Anderson talks about the Mountaineers’ win over the Hokies in which quarterback JT Daniels was 20-of-30 passing for 203 yards and one touchdown while running back C.J. Donaldson had 23 carries for 106 yards (4.6 ypc) and held Va Tech to 2-of-10 on third downs and came up with an interception.

Anderson says to be careful in how much to make of a win over Viriginia Tech, because the Hokies aren’t very good this season.
But Anderson said receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton (6-3, 215) has been a beast so far this season with 27 catches for 319 yards and four touchdowns.

Anderson breaks down WVU’s losses to Pittsburgh in the Backyard Brawl as well as an overtime loss at home to now 4-0 Kansas. Both of those outcomes were influenced by late pick-sixes thrown by Daniels.
Anderson calls Kansas a potential “7-5 team” this season, which spells trouble for the rest of the conference.
Anderson breaks down WVU’s defense, which he says is led by the Mountaineers’ defensive line (Dante Stills is in his 10th year it seems) and has had to overcome struggles at linebacker and in the secondary.
Is WVU coach Neal Brown in trouble with a 19-20 record in Year 4? Anderson weighs in.
Also, how will the Texas-WVU game play out this Saturday at 6:30 pm CT on FS1? Anderson gives you his breakdown.
