AUSTIN, Texas – Kickoff for Texas Football’s Oct. 1 game versus West Virginia was announced as a six-day selection by the Big 12 Conference on Monday. The game will be broadcast by either ESPN or FOX from inside Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The official announcement will come after this weekend’s games have been completed.
Texas will face off with West Virginia for the 12th time in program history and seventh time in Austin. The Longhorns are 5-6 against Mountaineers all-time, and 2-4 when the teams meet at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. West Virginia is the only current member of the Big 12 in which Texas does not have a winning record.
The Longhorns have won two of the last three games, but fell to the Mountaineers in last year’s game, 31-23, in Morgantown.
