Former Hospital CEO in West Virginia Sued by Labor Department – Bloomberg Law

US Department of Labor filed suit against Charles Hatfield, former CEO of Williamson Memorial Hospital LLC, for allegedly failing to forward contributions to the company’s health-care plan in his role as a fiduciary, causing cancellation of his employees’ health insurance in Williamson, W.Va., the DOL said Friday.

An investigation by the Employee Benefits Security Administration found that Hatfield failed to file contributions which led to the plan’s cancellation and left employees without coverage, the agency said. The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
