PITTSBURGH — The Pitt Panthers defeated West Virginia University 38-31 in the Backyard Brawl.

According to our partners at TribLIVE.com 70,622 fans made their way to Pittsburgh for the rivalry game. The event marks an all-time record for the most watched sporting event of any variety in Pittsburgh.

The game was tied 10-10 at halftime.
